William Ross Mims

William Ross Mims, 82, of Jones, Alabama passed away July 24, 2020 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster, AL. He was born September 27, 1937 in Clanton, Alabama, son of Ervie Mims and Mary Mims. He was a Superintendent with a Furniture Company. Surviving are his Daughter, Jane A. (Harold) Moran, Son, James Mims, Granddaughter, Perrin Mims, Granddaughter, Sarah (Ryan) Averette, Grandson, TR Mims, Great-Grandson, Cooper Averette, Great-Granddaughter, Gracelyn Averette, Sister, Christine Anthony, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Ervie Mims, Mother, Mary LA Mims, Son, Timothy R. Mims, Sister, Frances Caton, Sister, Clara Headley, Brother, Ralph Mims, and Brother, Billy Mims. Friends will be received Monday, July 27, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, July 27, 2020, at 3:00 pm. at Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Maplesville, Alabama. Serving as Pallbearers will be Ryan Averette, Taylor Brown, Vlencon Brown, Mickey Patterson, Terry Headley, and TR Mims. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Jones, Mike Heath, Steve Lawrence and Jay Headley. Facial coverings and social distancing required. Martin Funeral Home directing.
