William Clay Stanley

Mr. William “Clay” Stanley, 59, of Maplesville, Alabama, passed away on May 19, 2022 at UAB Hospital from a lengthy battle with cancer. Clay was born in Tallahassee, Florida, the son of Bill and Ora Stanley.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Stephens Stanley, his parents Bill and Ora Stanley, his daughter, Nicole Boatwright (Joey), daughter, Taylor Stanley, son, Dustin Stephens (Megan), daughter, Morgan Stanley, son, Corey Stephens, and daughter, Emmy Stephens. His siblings James Stanley (Julie) and Karen Forrester (Ken). Nine grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by maternal grandparents, John and Vera Burks and paternal grandparents, William Morgan and Elizah Stanley. Clay is fondly referred to by his cousins and grandmother Stanley as “The Golden Child.”

There will be a Celebration of Life at Clanton New Life Community Church (2665 County Rd 81, Clanton AL 35045) Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. At a time to be determined, a Celebration of Life will be held in Tallahassee, Florida.
