William Edge Thigpen, 83, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away June 8, 2024, at his Residence in Montgomery, Alabama.
He was born December 2, 1940, in Alabama, son of the late Frank Thigpen and the late Mildred Edge Thigpen.
He was a State Representative for 12 years and Assistant Director of ABC Agency for 13 years. William was a Troy University Graduate and played basketball four years and Retired Major of Army National Guard for 28 years.
Surviving are his Wife, Betty Thigpen; Daughter, Vicki Thigpen (David) Dodd; Son, William Edge Thigpen, Jr.; Son, James Britt Thigpen; Sister, Frances Benson; Brother, Frank Thigpen; Sister-In-Law, Lisa Whitstine; Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Matthew, Hunter, Presley, Brittany, Sophia, Ava, Alora, William Ira, Mary Burkett, Bennett, Wilder Edge and Vivi Cole.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Frank and Mildred Thigpen; Mother-In-Law, Mary Burkett.
Friends will be received Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Greenville, Alabama.
Services will be held , June 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Greenville, Alabama with Bro. John Girdley officiating.
