She was born on Tuesday, April 25, 1922 in Alabama, Daughter of the late Thomas Delous Roper and the late Glennie O. Williams Roper. She was a Homemaker. Surviving are Daughters, Willie Grace Burton, Debbie (Keith) Sikes, Janet (Tommy) Seales; Sons, James "JD" Short, Bobby (Pat) Short, William (Cindy) Short; Brother, Sherrill (Glenda) Roper; Sister, Mildred Wyatt; Grandchildren, Angie McLean, Nancy Reed, Bill Short, Terry Short, Vickie Maddox, Kay Jones, Bobby Short, Krista Burton, Chad Sikes, Jacob Seales, Jonathan Seales; 9 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Elbert J. Short, Infant Daughter, Brothers, R.Q., Calvin, Chester, Cecil, Earl & Douglas Roper and Sisters, Nellie Giles, Frances Smitherman. Friends will be received from 6-8, Sunday, September 16, 2018 @ Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, September 17, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev.
