Born in Chilton County November 29, 1945 at Clanton Hospital. He is the son of Leroy B. and Clyde Jones Martin. He graduated from Chilton County High School in 1964 and John A. Gupton College in 1967.
Bobby is President of Martin Funeral Home, Inc. and Martin Memorial Cemetery, Inc. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for 52 years. Still working full time at Martin Funeral Home. ( his first funeral to work was with his dad at the age of 9 yrs. old). He was a certified Eye Enucleating Technician for 10 years, and served on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Eye Bank.
Bobby’s accomplishments: One of the organizers of the Chilton County Emergency Medical Council and served as its first chairman for 11 years; served as City of Clanton Councilman for 16 years; Member of the First Baptist Church, Clanton; Member of the Gideon’s International; Member and Past President of Clanton Lions Club; Member and past president of the Alabama Probate Judges Association; Member of the National College of Probate Judges; Member of the American Red Cross, Central Alabama Chapter; Member of Chilton-Shelby Mental Health Board; Probate Judge of Chilton County for 30 years, retired in January 2019; Clanton Advertiser Citizen of the Year; C. I. T. Y. Program Citizen of the Year; Recipient of the first Humanitarian Award given by the Clanton Chapter of Business and Professional Women; Lions Club International Foundation Melvin Jones Fellow Award For Dedicated Humanitarian Services; Chilton County Chamber of Commerce 2018 Distinguished Citizen of the year Award and serves in numerous other community organizations.
Bobby believes in giving one hundred and ten per cent to any project or endeavor that he undertakes and never backs away from a difficult task. He truly loves his work! Bobby never meets a stranger and always treats his fellowman with compassion, honesty and kindness.
Bobby is married to the former Judy Vines. They were blessed with three Children – Nancy Craft (deceased), Lori (Jessie) Peoples, and Mel (Amanda) Martin. Five Grandchildren who affectionately call him “Pop” Scot Foshee, Tiffany F. Lockhart, Natalie Peoples, Keilan Peoples, and Max Martin. Two Great-Grandchildren Caroline Lockhart and Ben Lockhart.
Born in Chilton County on August 20, 1937at his home. Donny is the son of Leroy B. and Clyde Jones Martin. He graduated from Chilton County High School in 1957. Donny continues to work at Martin Funeral Home full-time.
Through his life he has many accomplishments: gave twenty gallons of blood, member of the Clanton Lion’s Club for fifty-nine years, past president of Clanton Lion’s Club, Member of the Chilton County Rescue Squad since 1957, member of Eagle Scouts and Chairman of Cerebal Palsey for eighteen years and a member of First Baptist Church.
Donny has successfully confronted every challenge and every difficulty in life which serves to strengthen our will, confidence and ability to conquer future obstacles. He has certainly been an inspiration in so many lives in Chilton County.
Donny has one son, Jody (Carol) Martin. He also has four grandchildren, Brittany, Dakota, Steve and Emily, and great-grandchildren are Alexander, Colbie, Kade, Kamille and Lexi.
Norma is a long-time resident of Chilton County. She is a graduate of Thorsby High School. She retired as a Court Reporter in 1992.
She was married to James “Jimmy” Martin. They had one son, Jim and daughter, Kim. They have five grandchildren. David (Jennifer) Gardner, Kassie (Casey) Simmons, Kristin (Kyle) Mims, Kamber (Ryan) Nwransky, Terry “Ty” (Brandy) Byrd, Shayna (Trent) Wyatt and Shelbie (Jace) Maddox; and four daughters, Kassie (Casey) Simmons, Kamber (Ryan) Nwransky, Shayna (Trent) Wyatt and Shelbie (Jace) Maddox. They also have sixteen great-grandchildren, which refer to her as MawMaw, Mallory, Emma Grace, Brady, Lexie, Bryan, Layla, Tessa, Kelton, Rylan, Charlee Kate, Sadie Jo, Cari Ann, Hudson, Ava Grace, Memphis and Mollie.
She is the daughter of the late Keith and Lucille Litz.
Donald is a 1995 graduate of Jefferson State Community College where he obtain an Associate Degree of Science in Funeral Service.
Donald is licensed by the Alabama Board of Funeral Service as a Funeral Director, Embalmer and Pre-Need Agent. He is also a monument specialist helping families select memorials for their loved one. He has over 30 years of experience in the funeral profession beginning is career while in high school at Craver’s Funeral Home in Brewton, AL.
Donald is married to Crystal Myrick and they have one daughter, Allie Elizabeth Myrick.
Jim is a life-long resident of Chilton County. He is the son of the late James “Jimmy” Martin and Norma Martin.
Jim is licensed by the Alabama Board of Funeral Service as a Funeral Director and Pre-Need Agent. He is also a monument specialist helping families select memorials for their loved one. He has over 35 years of experience in the funeral profession and served on the Alabama Board of Funeral Directors Association
Jim has one son, David (Jennifer) Gardner and one daughter, Kristin (Kyle) Mims. He also has four grandchildren, Mallory, Emma Grace, Brady and Kelton.
Ali is a long-time resident of the Jemison/Thorsby community. She is the daughter of Mark & Glenna Dawson, granddaughter of Arline & Catherine Dawson and Morton & Nancy Claxon.
Ali attended Thorsby High School and graduated in 2006. She then attended Jefferson State community college in 2017 and graduated in 2018 having earned a degree in Mortuary Science.
Ali still resides in the Jemison/Thorsby community with her two beautiful children, Autumn and Rhett. She has two wonderful fur babies Kyon, and Jake and three horses Mickey, Rigor, and Jasper.
Sofia is a long-time resident of the Isabella community, having relocated to Chilton County from the Midwest with her family as an adolescent.
Sofia attended Isabella High School, the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science in Nashville. She graduated in 2018, having earned a degree in the Arts. She has earned her license as a Funeral Director and Embalmer.
Sofia is married to Benjamin Thornton of Thorsby. Together they share two beloved pets, their dogs, Leo and Angelo.
Billy is a life-long resident of Chilton County. He worked in law enforcement for over fourteen years, and Sheriff of Chilton County from 1987 to 1991.
Billy started working with Martin Funeral Home, Inc. in January, 1991. He has over 28 years of experience in the funeral profession.
Billy has been married to Carolyn for over 32 years. Together they have a daughter, Michele Foshee; son, Tony (Tammy) Watkins; daughter, Misty (Chris) Burnett. He also has nine grandchildren, Nathan, Hannah, Cory, Kelsey, Winter, Baylon, Cody, Noah and Sarah.
Kim is a life-long resident of Chilton County. She is a 1985 graduate of Chilton County High School. She has worked as an Office Manager/Administrative Assistant for over thirty-four years.
She is married to Shane Robinson. We are Blessed with five children. One son, Terry “Ty” (Brandy) Byrd; and four daughters, Kassie (Casey) Simmons, Kamber (Ryan) Nwransky, Shayna (Trent) Wyatt and Shelbie (Jace) Maddox. They also have twelve grandchildren, which refer to her as Granna, Lexie, Bryan, Layla, Tessa, Rylan, Charlee Kate, Sadie Jo, Cari Ann, Hudson, Ava Grace, Memphis and Mollie.
She is the daughter of the late James “Jimmy” Martin and Norma Martin.

Kristin Martin Mims is a life-long resident of Clanton and graduated from Chilton County High School in 2006. She received her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in December of 2008. Kristin married Kyle Mims, of Clanton, in 2009 and began working in the healthcare industry. Kristin worked with Comfort Care Home Health and Hospice for 10 years as a consultant and marketing coordinator. She decided to work part-time with the family business in August of 2013 and Kyle and Kristin were blessed with their son, Kelton in 2015. She enjoys serving her community in various volunteer roles and helping support the families in their biggest time of need by customizing and providing a positive experience and finding a balance between professionalism and compassion.
Jimmy is a life-long resident of Chilton County. He has been working with Martin Funeral Home over forty years. He has been a member of the Chilton County Rescue Squad for ten years.
Jimmy has been married to Sandra for thirty-one years. They have one daughter, Heather (Chris) Griffin. He also has two grandchildren, Alexis and Jesse.
